Welcome to spotlyte’s Ticket Policy
Explains Ticket validity, QR-code use, Organiser-controlled entry rules, attendee behaviour, safety, and admission enforcement.
This policy applies to paid and free Tickets issued through Spotlyte and to attendee conduct connected with an Event. Organisers set Event-specific conduct and entry rules. Those Event Rules supplement this policy and must be displayed in the listing, Ticket, venue notice, or Event communication where reasonably possible.
1. Ticket validity
1.1.A Ticket is valid only for the Event, date, session, Ticket category, and conditions stated in the booking confirmation, Ticket, and Event listing.
1.2.A booking confirmation or payment debit is not a substitute for a valid Ticket where a Ticket or QR code has been issued.
1.3.A Ticket may be cancelled or invalidated where payment is reversed, charged back, fraudulent, unauthorised, duplicated, refunded, or otherwise not successfully completed.
2. Electronic Tickets and QR codes
2.1.Spotlyte may issue electronic Tickets or QR codes through the dashboard, email, SMS, WhatsApp, download link, or another stated method.
2.2.The Ticket holder must keep the QR code secure. Sharing a screenshot, forwarding a Ticket, posting it publicly, or allowing another person to copy it may result in unauthorised use.
2.3.Unless the Event expressly supports re-entry or multiple scans, the first successful scan or redemption may be treated as the valid use and later copies may be rejected.
2.4.Spotlyte and the Organiser may compare the Ticket with the booking record, purchaser details, transfer record, identification, or scan history to prevent misuse.
3. Ticket transfer, resale, and name changes
3.1.A Ticket may be transferred or renamed only where the Organiser or Spotlyte enables that option and the transfer is completed through the approved process.
3.2.The original buyer remains responsible for providing accurate recipient details and ensuring the recipient receives the current valid Ticket.
3.3.Commercial resale, scalping, auctioning, unauthorised marketplace resale, price inflation, duplication, alteration, and sale of counterfeit Tickets are prohibited.
3.4.Spotlyte may invalidate or restrict a Ticket reasonably suspected to have been obtained or transferred through fraud, unlawful resale, payment abuse, or a prohibited automated process.
4. Organiser-controlled Event Rules
4.1.The Organiser controls Event-specific entry and conduct rules, subject to applicable law and the minimum Platform standards in this policy.
4.2.Event Rules may cover age limits, guardian requirements, identity documents, dress code, permitted bags, prohibited items, food and drink, alcohol, photography or recording, seating, standing areas, late entry, re-entry, health and safety, accessibility arrangements, and venue procedures.
4.3.Users must review the Event listing and communications before attending. The Organiser may issue reasonable additional operational or safety instructions at the venue.
4.4.Where an Event Rule conflicts with mandatory law or a clearly stated Platform rule, mandatory law and the Platform rule prevail to the extent of the conflict.
5. Identification, age, and admission checks
5.1The Organiser may require original or accepted digital identification, proof of age, matching attendee details, guardian presence, or another verification method disclosed for the Event.
5.2The name on the Ticket may need to match identification where the Event states that Tickets are personalised or non-transferable.
5.3Failure to provide required identification or satisfy an age restriction may result in denied entry without refund.
5.4A Ticket does not override venue capacity, safety, legal, or regulatory requirements. Admission remains subject to lawful security and verification checks.
6. Prohibited items and security screening
6.1.The Organiser or venue may prohibit weapons, illegal substances, hazardous materials, outside food or drink, professional recording equipment, large bags, glass, fireworks, lasers, drones, or other items stated in the Event Rules.
6.2.Attendees may be required to submit to lawful bag checks, metal detection, identity checks, or other reasonable security screening.
6.3.Refusal to comply with a lawful and disclosed security process may result in denied entry or removal without refund.
6.4.Spotlyte does not store prohibited items or guarantee that a venue will provide cloakroom or storage facilities.
7. Attendee conduct
7.1.Attendees must behave lawfully, respectfully, and safely and must follow reasonable instructions from the Organiser, venue staff, security, emergency services, and authorised Event personnel.
7.2.Harassment, threats, violence, discrimination, stalking, sexual misconduct, dangerous behaviour, property damage, theft, excessive intoxication, disruption, unauthorised access, and unlawful activity are prohibited.
7.3.An Attendee must not interfere with performers, staff, other attendees, venue systems, Ticket scanners, barriers, emergency routes, or safety equipment.
7.4.The Organiser may refuse admission or remove an Attendee who presents a safety risk or materially breaches Event Rules. Such action ordinarily does not create refund eligibility.
8. Recording, photography, and publicity
8.1The Organiser may restrict photography, audio recording, video recording, live streaming, professional equipment, or commercial use of Event content.
8.2.An Event may be photographed, filmed, or recorded by the Organiser, venue, media, or authorised partners. Any attendee-facing notice or consent requirement should be displayed by the Organiser as applicable.
8.3.Attendees must not use images or recordings in a way that infringes intellectual property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or Event Rules.
9. Entry time, seating, and re-entry
9.1.Attendees should arrive within the admission window stated in the Event listing or Ticket. Late entry may be delayed, restricted, or refused to avoid disruption or for safety
9.2.Reserved seating, zones, tables, or categories are subject to the Ticket and venue plan. The Organiser may make reasonable substitutions where operationally necessary, subject to applicable law.
9.3.Re-entry is permitted only where the Event Rules allow it and any wristband, stamp, Ticket, or identification requirement is satisfied.
9.4.Leaving an Event early or missing part of the programme does not create refund eligibility.
10. Health, safety, and emergencies
10.1.Attendees must consider their own health, mobility, sensory, medical, and safety needs before booking and should review Event warnings or accessibility information.
10.2.An Attendee who requires an accommodation or accessibility arrangement should contact the Organiser or Spotlyte sufficiently before the Event. Availability depends on the venue, Event, and applicable law.
10.3.During an emergency, Attendees must follow evacuation, shelter, crowd-control, medical, or safety instructions immediately.
10.4.Spotlyte is not the Event operator and does not provide on-site medical, security, crowd, or emergency services unless expressly stated.
11. Personal property
11.1.Attendees are responsible for personal belongings. Spotlyte is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage at a venue or Event.
11.2.Lost-property enquiries should be directed to the Organiser or venue. Spotlyte may forward contact information but does not control storage, recovery, or return.
12. Technical or Ticket problems at entry
12.1.Before arriving, Attendees should download or open the Ticket, charge the device, and keep the Order reference available.
12.2.Where a Ticket cannot be displayed, the Attendee should contact Event staff and provide the booking reference, registered contact details, and identification requested for verification.
12.3.A Ticket validation issue should be raised while admission can still reasonably be investigated. Spotlyte and the Organiser may review payment, Ticket, transfer, and scan records.
13. Enforcement by Spotlyte and Organisers
13.1.The Organiser is responsible for on-site enforcement of Event Rules. Spotlyte may restrict accounts, Tickets, transfers, or Platform access for fraud, abuse, unlawful resale, threats, harassment, chargeback misuse, or serious or repeated policy violations.
13.2.Spotlyte may share relevant Ticket, booking, communication, and security records with the Organiser, venue, payment provider, or lawful authority where reasonably necessary to investigate an incident.
